The Prayer

There isn't much to say as words are not enough to try to describe situations such as these.  I had a talk with my oldest today...he knows that Santa isn't real...I was sad to have this conversation with him, but thought of those parents that would not get to have the talk...he wants to know if he can share the cookies with me.  My six year old...the same age as those sweet children...fell and scraped his elbow today riding his scooter...I took extra care in cleaning, bandaging and kissing his boo boo.  He just wanted to go play some more.  My daughter and I painted each other's toes this weekend, had dinner together, and watched Mickey's A Christmas Carol.  She wants to show everyone we see her precious toes.  We need to appreciate these little things more...we don't know what tomorrow brings.

I wrote letters to my children's teachers to thank them for all that they do.  Thank a teacher, a police officer, a fire fighter, an EMT.  Love your neighbor. Hug your kids. Pray. Use kind words. Let those you love know you love them.

I included one of my favorite songs...and included some of the Italian translation.  I hope that this finds you safe and loved.

I pray you'll be our eyes,
and watch us where we go
And help us to be wise,
in times when we don't know

Let this be our prayer,
when we lose our way
Lead us to a place,
guide us with your grace
To a place where we'll be safe.

La luce che tu dai
I pray we'll find your light
Nel cuore resterà
And hold it in our hearts
A ricordarci che
When stars go out each night
L'eterna stella sei
Nella mia preghiera
Let this be our prayer
Quanta fede c'è
When shadows fill our day

Lead us to a place
Guide us with your grace
To a place where we'll be safe
                                                                                         Italian Translation
Sogniamo un mondo senza più violenza                   We dream of a world without violence
Un mondo di giustizia e di speranza                         A world of justice and hope
Ognuno dia la mano al suo vicino                             Everyone gives a hand to his neighbor
Simbolo di pace e di fraternità                                  Symbol of peace and brotherhood

La forza che ci dai
We ask that life be kind
È il desiderio che
And watch us from above
Ognuno trovi amor
We hope each soul will find
Intorno e dentro a sè
Another soul to love

Let this be our prayer
Let this be our prayer
Just like every child
Just like every child

Needs to find a place,
guide us with your grace
Give us faith so we'll be safe

E la fede che                                                               And the faith that
Hai acceso in noi                                                        You lit in us
Sento che ci salverà                                                    I feel that will save us
