Bucket Lists

Our family got into an interesting discussion the other night about things that we have always wanted to do but haven't...so I thought I would share with you all our bucket lists, or dream lists as the kids called them.  It is really cool to see what the kids have on their lists...we even helped our middle child mark one off his list already.  Levi and I want to help the kids with their goals and help them make more...although as you will see, some of them will be impossible...we can try to get close.  I had them come up with at least 5...Levi and I could have gone all night as we both love travel.

Levi
Go to a Liverpool game in Liverpool
Cruise the world
Win Fantasy Soccer
Please a difficult client (I would like him to accomplish this one too, so he isn't so stressed!)
Win big in Vegas

Me (I know this is 10, but it is MY blog)
Cliff dive in Greece
Snow ski in Lake Tahoe (Levi says my clumsy self is absolutely not allowed to ski...pfft)
Rock out in karaoke (I want to wow people)
Go on a mission trip (I love Living Water or Samaritan's Feet trips)
Write a book
Learn to Salsa
Climb Machu Picchu
Touch the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem
Ride a train in Colorado
Drink wine in an Italian winery (or one in California, Germany, Australia...I'm not picky)

Oldest Kid (This is a tough list for Levi and I to help with!)
Meet and play Minecraft with Stampylongnose (Oh geez, can we be done with Minecraft already?)
Visit the rainforest and find this animal he saw in a book once
Write a book (Wonder where he got that?)
Go Sailing
Invent a room cleaning robot (So smart and such an unorganized mess!)

Middle Kid (So funny how you can see their personalities in their lists...our active kid)
Wants to surf
Climb the ladder Dad used to paint our two story walls (We took care of this one and mom did not watch!:))
Learn to play tennis (I have something for the Christmas list)
Be on American Ninja Warrior (he loves this show and tries to set up obstacles all over the house)
Read easier (This one breaks my heart...my baby is really struggling here)

Youngest Kid (Such cuteness)
Swim in a swim meet (She wants to beat her big brothers...competitive much?)
Watch Daddy play soccer in a stadium (We know the coach of the high school team...maybe we can work something out...)
Wants to go to space (Seriously?!)
Wants to be on TV (Drama Queen!)
Ride my bike by myself without training wheels (almost there:))

So what is on your list?

  1. I think all your lists are wonderful and inspired. It's important to have dreams. I should hate to be a multi-millionaire and know that I could have everything I wanted. It's my opinion that it is much better to work towards fulfilling your dreams one by one, even if some are rather unattainable. Who knows? Things happen and suddenly you find you are doing something you never ever thought you would be doing. Your children sound adorable.

And as for my dreams - mostly for us both to keep healthy. Dreams are worthless without good health. Like you, I take hundreds of tablets every day! LOL!

    1. Thanks Ami, I think they are pretty adorable, but I am a bit biased. I love that they came up with such great lists that weren't just full of "stuff". I am sorry for all the pills:( and wish you the best of health!

  2. I just want to go to Italy. If I manage that I will add more.

As for your little princess, if you wait long enough her list will change and no doubt become easier for you to help her with!

Oh and some of the 'water parks' have those endless waves that you can 'surf' on. You should have something like that in your state!!!

    1. I know, right...space?! The cool thing about being 4 years old is that we can trick her a bit still...I need to find a simulator somewhere or a video game...and take a video of her and play it on the tv. I think we can do this:) lol! Italy has been on my list for a long while...I kept telling Levi that he should take me there for our 10 year wedding anniversary but we had a kid instead:)

  7. his is great. It is always wonderful to have dreams. I myself have always been a dreamer and in many ways I am living my dream...but certainly I could dream more. I may make this a a family activity...I know my husband made a wish list many years ago (probably still have it somewhere) but lists change so it would be fun to do again...and then try to accomplish some...My kids are always sharing their dreams...I am certain my son would love the Minecraft idea (geesh) and my daughter has many dreams and they change by the minute. :-) By the way, I had to smile that Levi would not allow you to snow ski...but is fine with you diving off a cliff :-) Thanks for sharing your bucket list...I may do a post on this too if it is okay... Hugs :-)

    1. I would love to hear your family's bucket list too! I know, huh, the Minecraft is getting sorta old.:) LOL! I guess Levi figures that jumping into some water sounds safer than allowing me to strap giant sticks to my feet and make it down a mountain:)...I can't walk across the room without tripping over my own feet...but that does sound funny!

  8. This brought a major smile to my face tonight when I needed one, thanks!

So I have a notebook I started, to try and put 100 things I want to do (I might have 30 - it's hard to come up with stuff!). I haven't looked at it for awhile, but I have stuff like run with the bulls, through-hiking a Major Trail (Appalachian, PCT, IAT), and learning to hunt.

I posed it to my family, and while they're working on their answers still, here are a few ticklers they gave me:
Holly - a new minivan (ugh!) and traveling back to Denmark
Birdsnest (9) - to travel the world (maybe in my minivan - gee, I wonder if her mom is influencing her much :)

    1. Your Welcome:) Glad it gave you a smile. I think I am going to post this list on the fridge so I don't forget about it...I can think of so many places that I want to travel too, but I wanted to think about what exactly I want to do there...makes me want to go even more. That is how our conversation got started.
I have to side with Holly on this one...I love my minivan and mine is sitting at 160,000 miles and almost 10 years old...so I am in desperate need of a new minivan:) For some crazy reason every time I think of Denmark, I think of Copenhagen which makes me think of that country song Copenhagen by Robert Earl Keen...now I have it stuck in my head...so gross. lol Take Birdsnest to Epcot...cheapest world travel;)
