Dinner and a Movie Again?

We know we are supposed to continue dating our spouse to help ensure a long and happy marriage...we know this right?  Tell me you know this...

Okay, but does this happen to you?

Wife: I think we should go out this weekend.

Husband: Hmm. (or some other unintelligible mumble)

Wife: Babe, did you hear me?

Husband: Sounds great, let's do that.

Wife: Cool, what do you want to do?

Husband: I don't know, what do you want to do?

Blah, blah, blah...we all know how this conversation goes and then what do we all end up doing?  Yep, dinner and a movie.  Tell me I am not alone here:)

Levi and I have been working hard on doing something besides dinner and a movie.  We try to take turns planning dates but I will admit to you that the planning still is more me than him.  I am learning to be cool with it...the more I do, the more he seems to do even if I still am doing more.  Still following me here?

So I found this website and wanted to share with you all because I think it is AWESOME!!  A bit cheesy, but so fun.  And isn't that what we all want...a little more fun in our lives with our spouse?

www.thedatingdivas.com

They have all sorts of ideas and free printables.  Most of their ideas are FREE.  We love free around here...they do have some things for sale, but hey, we all have to make a living, right?  They have a ton of free date ideas too which is something we could have desperately used early in our marriage when we had no money.

Levi and I are not doing Christmas gifts for each other this year but we are stuffing each other's stockings and I found some cute certificates and date ideas for him to use during the year.  They also have cute ideas for kids and family time.

Hope you find something that works for you!

  1. Yes Bea...I do know that we are supposed to continue dating our spouse to help ensure a long and happy marriage. ;) Thanks for sharing the dating link...if I ever start dating again, it will be something to use. I am sure a lot of the couples in blogland will be very grateful...free is always good. Wishing you and Levi a very Merry Christmas.

  3. Too late Girl. Been there long ago, I was keeping it a secret. I liked this idea as one that looked like a lot of fun. Take a look.

I never was able to find the paints though. I was afraid to us Dayglow markers, you never know about allergies. It may work fine on you but then you start doodling on your mate and they begin to swell and itch at the site and your scrambling for an epi pen. I still want to try it though.

    1. You can find those at a craft store in the kids section like Michael's or Hobby Lobby. Try the Crayola website too:) Crayola should be pretty hypoallergenic since they know they will be used by kids...plus you won't be trying to scrub them for hours...lol...headed off to work with paint all over you.
Keeping secrets?! Well, I guess we all have to keep some...I let it out of the bag:) I got Levi a date of the month club gift and we are "going" to a different country every month and stamping his fake passport. He seems very excited:)

    1. I am a little late to the party:) So glad I found them though...their ideas are so awesome and so easy...they really are providing a great service and mission. Levi and I couldn't spend a lot so I did the Passport date of the month to different countries:) He is excited to see what I have in store. Now to plan...we are going to "France" first so I think I am going to do a Parisian Picnic:)

  5. I just found this site this week also! It is cheesy for sure, but they have some good ideas. Heck, I would settle for dinner and a movie any day! We NEVER go on dates. I have been telling him for seven years now I would like to go in a monthly date. I am still waiting! So don't sell yourselves short! Good luck with the date ideas!
